COVID-19 Update March 19th, 2020

The Town of North West River would like to ensure residents that we have been diligently working since last Friday in a proactive way to ensure the safety of our residents and staff.
The Town Office and building is closed to the public. Phone or email all other business. Residents are urged to use E Transfer for payments. We are taking measures to protect our invaluable Town employees, especially those who keep the water and sewage flowing, and the streets cleared. We remind residents that at no time should "flushable" wipes be put through our sewer system, especially in this critical time.
We ask everyone to follow the protocol on hygiene and social distancing.
Garbage collection is Wednesday and Thursday as per weekly schedule, HOWEVER we ask residents to limit to 2 bags if possible, and to place the securely tied garbage bags on roadside NOT in cans, after 8:00am. we may have to further adjust our procedures as time goes on.
The Regular Council meeting for the month of March is cancelled.
We are in constant communications with Municipalities NL, LG Health and other authorities to ensure all is being done to protect our Community, and we will keep you updated as this situation evolves. Residents can get accurate and updated information at https://www.lghealth.ca/latest-news.
At this strange time, we find ourselves charting unknown territory, a situation with challenges that most of us have never witnessed before. We are concerned for all our residents, and if you are elderly or immune compromised and need any assistance, please contact the office.
North West River is a resilient community, and we will get through this challenging time. Now, more than ever, we are truly all in this together.
