Planned Outage for Upper Lake Melville

6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Hydro is advising residents of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Mud Lake, Sheshatshiu, and North West River that the outage planned for this Fall is scheduled for Sunday, September 19th from approximately 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

The outage is needed so that we can safely perform work and energize new equipment including a newly completed transmission line. This new Labrador East interconnection will increase reliability and the amount of electricity available for customers in the area.

Hydro will also complete other required work on the distribution system within the communities during the outage to help reduce the need for future outages.

The backup gas turbine unfortunately cannot be used to provide power during the outage because the work requires disconnecting terminal station equipment needed to operate the unit.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank our customers in Upper Lake Melville for your understanding as we complete these important upgrades. Hydro makes every effort to schedule planned outages so that impacts to customers are minimized.
