Hydro is advising customers in Upper Lake Melville of ongoing work on the electricity system this Sunday, September 26.
Backup generation will be used to provide power to as many customers as possible as crews complete the necessary work. However, please be advised that if local electricity demand is more than backup generation can provide, the following areas may unfortunately experience a power outage on Sunday, September 26 between 5:00AM and 5:00PM.
North West River and Sheshatshiu
5 Wing Goose Bay base
MOT area
During last weekend's planned outage, we were unable to complete all the work required to bring the new Labrador East transmission interconnection in service, which will increase the amount of electricity available for customers in the area. The remaining work is scheduled for this Sunday.
Customers can help manage load on the system by conserving where they can between 5am and 5pm this Sunday, such as turning down thermostats by 1-2 degrees, avoiding doing laundry or running dishwashers, and turning off lights in rooms that aren't in use.
We understand the impact that outages have on customers and apologize for this possible interruption. For outage information any time, check www.nlhydro.com/outages, call us at 1-888-737-1296, or follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
