Public Works Assistant
The Town of North West River is accepting applications for the
position of Public Works Assistant.
Duties
The full-time position is responsible for assisting the Public Works supervisor in the operations and maintenance of the Town's properties and infrastructure, including:
-The Municipal water and wastewater system, including repairs to pumps, manholes, catch basins/drains and sewer lines.
-Town Properties, including landscaping and ground maintenance work.
-Town Equipment, including the operation and general maintenance.
-Town Buildings, including carpentry repairs, plumbing repairs, and general maintenance.
-Weekly household residential garbage pickup.
Qualifications
- Able to lift a minimum of 55 lbs
-Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
-Be mechanically inclined.
-Strong and reliable work ethic.
-Able to interact with the public and co-workers in a courteous and respectful manner.
-Willing to work in all weather conditions and be available 24/7 for an urgent matter.
Requirements
- Valid class 5 drivers license and Class 9 Air Brake endorsement.
-An RCMP code of conduct
Renumeration will be based on experience and the successful completion of 6-month introductory period.
Position will be open until filled.
